While being quite rare, Aluminium is currently the lightest metal in the game, and decently resilient. Furthermore, testing shows that each island will only produce one quality variant of each metal. Generally speaking, higher tier biomes will spawn higher tier metals. Using higher quality materials will give a higher statistic boost to the part you are making, without any additional cost of weight. Quality can vary from 1 to 10, with 10 being the best and 1 the worst. Metal, like wood, has a quality statistic. Metals can be found within metal scrap nodes (Situated on, or on the underside of Islands), within chests or in scrap piles scattered around some islands. These include the strength (resilience), colour, conductivity, heat-dissipation and others depending on the type of part. Different metals will boost a components statistics. Each metal varies in density and strength, which will affect ship physics and appearance. Metal is one of the main Resources used for Crafting and ship building.
